How to Use Seesaw

1)  On your child's chromebook, go to their Clever Page. (Don't know how to get to Clever, click here.)

2)  Click on Seesaw.

3)  This image will pop up.  Click the blue box that says Go to Seesaw.

4)  This is your child's page.  Their "activities" (which are assignments) should pop right up.  If not, simply click "Activities" on the horizontal blue bar on he left.

Here is a little video to show you more specific instructions.

Their activities are their assignments.  They have practiced this at school.  They need to click "Add Response" in the green box to start submitting their work.  All the instructions for what they need to do are there.

5)  For the next few weeks, kids are going to read to me on Seesaw from the sheets or books in their homework packet.  Here is Luke recording himself reading.  Again, they have practiced this.

6)  Here you can see the recording screen. When kids are finished reading, they hit the "stop" button--two white lines in a red circle.

Then (AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT), they have to click "Done" with the check mark in the green oval in the upper left hand corner.  This submits their work so I can see it.

Please be patient.  Ask questions if you get stuck.  This is a really wonderful way for me to see and hear the kids practicing their reading.

Reading Books!

Does your child have a book or a page with a small story in their take home folder?

That means they are reading!  Practice these stories with your children.

Helpful hints:

1)  Have them blend those words (see * in peach box to right)

2)  Let them struggle for a bit; they need time to work those words out.  Don't tell them immediately.

3)  Don't let them guess.  Guessing isn't reading.  Make them blend those words!
