Counting

1)  Get out your hundreds chart from your take home folder.  You may use it if you need to.

2)  Practice counting out loud.  Count to 100 if you can.

3)  Keep practicing to get better and faster. Count for 5 minutes.

4)  If you can already count to 100 quickly (in one minute), try counting like this:
  • backwards from 20 to 0
  • counting up from a random number like 29, 37, or 63
  • counting by 5s or 10s to 100
  • counting backwards from 100 by 5s or 10s (100, 95, 90, 85...)
  • counting by 10s starting at a random single digit number (3, 13, 23, 43, etc.)

5)  Check off counting on your list in your take home folder.  Write down which way your counted today.
